MixPre ISO Extractor is a Windows/Python tool designed to extract ISO tracks from a Sound Devices MixPre polyWAV file. It works with first and second-generation MixPre recorders, such as the MixPre-3, MixPre-6, or MixPre-10, regardless of the number of tracks actually recorded.
What is MixPre ISO Extractor used for?
The purpose is straightforward: to transition from a multi-track field recording to separate WAV files ready for use in editing software, sound design, or audio post-production. The tool eliminates the need to manually configure routing in ffmpeg for every export.
Extraction Options
The interface allows you to select the source folder, verify the presence of ffmpeg, choose whether to overwrite existing files, and then initiate the extraction. Two options make the output more immediately usable: a gain preset to rebalance tracks upon export, and peak normalization to set the maximum level of each extracted file to a target value.
